HI Dan: RE>an investment which will make you rich ? Too many of them
and you go to the poor house..<G> I look for a healthy profit..and
maybe an angle that the average person don't play. All my get rich
ideas went no where..so I just paddle along. If I can avoid losing
money on PSIX..I'll make some..( about 40% a year )..
It's seldom now I play a stock that don't have options..and I write
calls if the premium is good enough. In this case I wrote calls
on the stock I picked up and because I think 6.5 to 7 is her low I wrote puts on the amount I'm willing to pick up. If she stays
just were she is I'll make a healty profit, If she goes up I'll
make it a little faster.
I do gamble some..shorting stocks but more and more I'm becoming
convinced it's not worth the sleepless nights. <G>
berkshirehathaway.com
I may be all wet with this writing calls idea..but after looking
ole berkshire over I asked my self how did he do so good, "and
never sell a stock"..maybe that's the key..he didn't sell but
let them take the stock..in fact I'm conviced he did not do it
just on stock appreciation..he don't say so..but he had to be
writing calls, and maybe puts too. Is there anything wrong with
40% a year ? It's almost a sin..but to want more than that a person
surly must be greedy. <G> I'm still trying to find myself ( a style
that will fit me ) my ideas have changed over the last several
years..and I suppose they will in the future. What style of investing
do you use. ?
Jim
