Barmates..... Still smiling this morning. This was a joyous occasion....one that the city of Boston needed. It was social and cultural...symbolic of the grit this city has always demonstrated. Since the Marathon bombing....the Bruins began to bring some wonderful distraction to the city almost taking the Stanley Cup. And now the Red Sox....a team that no one thought would even make the playoffs, become the unlikely heroes that brought a joyous distraction to a city and to some families who had lost so much. It was almost too much to wrap your head around....but then you realize this was a game for the heart. This is a gritty town....always has been. The Red Sox as a symbol for Boston was perfectly placed last night....even the new members of the Sox could sense how huge and deeply meaningful this event was for the city. When they gave Papi the microphone last night.....you knew what was coming...... "Don't mess with our fucking city....Boston Strong baby" Never experienced anything like this......still smiling Altair19
