The cluster enhancements in 8i mean that you can build an incredibly large memory configuration with users automatically routed to the least busy node. The parallel server node inter-node communication mechanisms appear to have been changed to eliminate the deadly 'pinging' between nodes where users on different nodes access common database blocks. Eliminating the pinging and adding a resource balancing front end greatly simplifies building extremely large memory/cpu configurations. Want to grow from 1000 concurrent users to 2000 concurrent user? Add another node. Worried about contention for database blocks? Not anymore... Very cool. ttf
