Hi Bruce,
Yes, I use the trio of IRL, TF8, and Metastock, because they all use the same Metastock file format. And yes, I did say that you can view the 200+ IRL group indexes in P&F format with TF8.
I'm currently using Reuters' data, because they seem to have cleaned up the intermittent problems, AND they seem to have the cleanest data. (this doesn't seem that important until you have a data mistake that costs real money, of which I have....ahem)
I still like Metastock better for all the built in tools, and for the funtionality, and TF8 has an intermittent bug that crashes it from time to time (although I don't think you'll have that problem unless you run it on an NT4.0 system)
On the bright side, it's MUCH faster than MS, and you can flip through 200+ index charts just about as fast as you can push the "page down" button......seriously! It also allows you to make lists of lists...then save them as a different list....very useful for momentum and new high/low searches and keeping all the work "in the computer" (as opposed to having to write out the results elsewhere)
It also allows you to search for programmable P&F patterns, and comes with canned explorations like "New Triple Top", etc.....Worth the money (I feel) unless you can afford the "Box Seats" at DWA.
BTW, I've heard the same thing about Quotes Plus......I'm waiting for the QP2.x version to get most of the bugs ironed out before I try it.
Dick
P.s You've probably noticed this, but MS 6.5x doesn't do the Chartcraft form of P&F correctly....the boxsize is the same at all prices. |
