Atmel has been beaten down a lot more than most of the other semiconductor stocks because of their higher percentage of sales to Asia then most of the others. A lot of the others have suffered too; just look at LSI trading at 13 13/16 and VLSI at 11 1/8. Applied Materials just threw fuel on to the fire today with their announcement to lay off 15% of their work force. Hopefully Atmel's management is as smart as everyone seems to think and they will be able to get the company through the current difficulties and build a company that is even stronger then it was before. Most of the bad news should be out by now and any positive news at all should help to move the stock higher. If the Japanese government can start to take some concrete actions to help their economy recover that would be the kind of positive news that we need. Right now it looks like Murpy's law is in effect. Europe looked like one of the bright spots where Atmel might do well and then Russian problem arises as well as problems developing in South America.
Anyway Tim I appreciate your attitude and I would like to thank all the people on this thread for the way they have handled their selves through these trying times. I think this is a great thread and I am glad to see that it hasn't degenerated to the name calling and baiting that I see on some of the other threads.

Good luck to all
