Greetings James, Thank you for taking the time to take a look at my request regarding the twelve tribes of Israel listed in Genesis and comparing them with the twelve tribes listed in Rev.7. As you readily were able to see some of the original tribes (Genesis ) were either left out,or new ones added to this list of the twelve tribes as they appear in Rev. 7. Let us take a closer look at these two groups of people and see Gods progressive revelation to man.I will list the twelve tribes as they appear in Rev 7 and a brief description of the name that the tribe that appears in Genesis. " Please , Please consider that these people who are described in Rev. 7 are described by their respective names of their tribes. " The First Tribe is " Judah ", which means "praise". These people centerd their lives around the " Lion of the tribe of Judah " continually offering praise to this Lion who is the Lord Jesus Christ, the firstborn from the dead. The second tribe is " Reuben " meaning " behold a Son ". The third tribe is " Gad " meaning " a great company " ( Heb.2-10 , For it was fitting for Him in bringing many sons to Glory ). James , are there any lights coming on as to who these people described are so far. I will stop at this place in order to limit the length of my post as a common courtesy. The definition of Israel means " 0ne who is conquered by God ". May God grant unto you my brother according to your seeking heart. We will continue this later James. Have a blessed day in Christ. Robert
