I saw a Movie the other night on HBO. (It was a made-for-T.V. movie, perhaps.) It starred Andy Garcia and it was the story of Arturo Sandoval. I possibly recall hearing his name, but never really knew anything about him. I learned that he was a Cuban horn player who eventually was able to defect to the U.S. with his wife and son. The story was nice. But what really blew away was the music! Arturo Sandoval is an incredible trumpet player! I've been downloading samples of his stuff off of Napster. I can't get enough. I'm going to buy a few CD's. Often he would tour with Dizzy Gillespie. It must have been amazing to see them play together. -ClapOffToFindHisTrumpetThatHeHasn'tPlayedSinceHighSchool P.S. Also saw the movie Gladiator on DVD. Cool movie. That is another movie that the music really grabbed me. A woman named Lisa Gerrard sings in some foreign language. She has an incredible voice. I've been downloading some of her stuff as well. She used to be in a band called Dead Can Dance. Really cool exotic sound. Have any of you heard of these two people? Know any good CD's?
