Ray, from what I have read, like Hungary and China, there is little infrastructure building of copper based systems. Countries without a wire based system are totally leapfrogging copper and going to a fiber based system. The bandwidth of fiber is much greater than that of copper, and as I read today China in at least one city is using HFC telephony based systems. To me there is no question as to what I would build if I were starting from scratch, fiber would be it. In remote areas around the globe WLL will probably be much more cost effective. Only in developed nations that have established infrastructure will copper based systems such as ADSL,SDSL be used for data services. Any large foreign city that does not use this route will be making a mistake. CDMA based wireless has gotten tremendous support from around the world. I think we can thank new technologies for making faster, smaller chips for both the growth of CDMA,and ADSL. I have one question though, what will be the impact of ADSL on a system,if it is not implemented correctly, and the total usage calculated is much more than anticipated. Can ADSL overload the current infrastructure, without adequate upgrading?
