IF you really want to run software that will always run everything but not TOO much dependence on windows blechh upgrade, get a copy of Linux, a pirated copy of windows 98, an old 300 HhZ computer and stuff it with 512 megs of ram. Then run a puppy called VMware on the linux side. You can have both Win98 and Linux run on the same box at the same time! Yep it's true. Then you can run Star Office, Abi Word or Applix ware for office stuff, gnumeric or excel for a spread sheet or Applix sheet or word and flip back and forth between windows and Linux.

I would run the latest X-Windows in Linux. 4.0. You might have to download that from the X site.
