Never saw Trump coming. I guess he got tired of being dismissed as not a serious candidate. So he ran, just to spite the talking heads. Either he, or more likely someone else, knew enough about American history to spot the growing populism fever out there so he knew how to seize the moment. I suspect it was someone else. Trump just likes the attention........I doubt he is a very good student of history. What makes it interesting is that Trump has latched onto the crazy thread that is always embedded in a populist wave. They are generally what is left once the established parties grab off the good parts. Because populist waves alway explode in a cloud of crazy. How long does an 'explosion in a cloud of crazy' last? Its been going on for some time........ever since Obama ran for his first term.
