Liar. Kerry had no real political ambitions at the time. He was fresh out of combat and was lucky to be alive. He was intent on saving troops' lives, and that was his #1 focus.

In fact, the courageous anti-war stands he took against Nixon and company cost him his first election bid. He also had no money, no financial support from anyone powerful and no organization. He did an incredible job largely by himself to galvanize the peace movement and put an end to the most costrly, wrongheaded, and yes evil war the US has ever fought, though Iraq is catching up fast.

Thank God a few people learned the lessons from Vietnam, though clearly, Bush-Cheney and many others did not.

It's time this country recognized the fact that we will fail and fall if we don't stand on the side of righteousness. These terrible wars started and fought based on lies and greed are extremely counter-productive, except to the defense sector. News today is that defense stocks are doing great. Maybe that's all it's really about.
