Now that could be interesting from a stock FA point of view ..

Many of the big boys sell puts on their own stock. This allows them to discount stock purchased by the amount of prem absorbed. They then have the stock to deliver to employees when they exorcise employee options.

If the companies have filled their load of stock and no employee stock options are "in the money," then the company will reduce, or stop, their stock buying/put selling activities. They may, in fact, unload some inventory ..

Symptoms of this would be a fast drop in price and a sharp rise in put prems.
