Hi James, nice post. Something I find interesting is how we Americans expect everyone else in the world to call our cities by their English name, yet we come up with all kinds of variations on their names.

Take Milano. We pronounce it Milan.
Take Rome. We pronounce it Rome instead of Roma.
Take Athens. Why not Athena?

So many cities are like that in Europe. I wonder if someone on the net has generated a list?
