IMO, this is simply a means for both MOT and WIND to increase their addressable markets. The MOT communication chips now will have a lower barrier to adoption for potential customers who may have neither the time nor expertise to develop the required software themselves. WIND will benefit by reaching a new subset of customers and applications.
