>>>Why would a home builder be selling property with no homes on it?<<< in areas where housing is difficult to come by, especially affordable, wouldn't you be willing to put a down payment on a plot of land when a developer shows you plans for the community...this is VERY common and this is how so many homes are being built today..this way the potential buyer can pick out options to fit his needs...I bought a brand new home in Atlanta and this type of purchases go on all over the place..and we don't have a housing shortage
