High unemployment, record debt and 18 straight months of anti-business policies demonstrate that this president and Democratic congressional majority have mismanaged an already troubled economy and made matters worse for American families and employers.

Despite already raising taxes by $670 billion, the president's policies still have us on track to triple the national debt over the next decade. And now, a sweeping $3.8 trillion tax increase is set to hit virtually every American on Jan. 1, 2011.

By failing to act to extend current tax cuts, Democratic leaders will allow a massive tax increase to take hold. Raising taxes in the midst of a prolonged recession will devastate the very small businesses responsible for creating almost 80% of all new jobs. Taking away small-business dollars that should be going to pay wages and hire new workers is a surefire way to prolong our economic troubles
