P.M. maybe this will make my point clear.
I heard AMD’s (NYSE: AMD) quarterly conference call last week, and I realized it is basing its entire growth in the next two years on the new MirrorBit flash product line for the cell phone market. Saifun is suing AMD, claiming that this technology is the basis of its registered patents. After independent analyst Mark Savolainen Smith and I checked further, we concluded that a substantial royalties agreement between the companies is inevitable, because otherwise AMD’s future will be seriously jeopardized. this was the reason that the Credit Suisse First Boston analyst lowered his recommendation for AMD.
