Mark: Not only is there no life to speak of at FL, the company received an exclusion from the US Desert Protection Act, an agreement which was reached by giving up a small part of the claim (right under Eagle Mountain -- the plug, remember??). If you look at a map of the protected area, there is a little spot not included -- that's FL. This was dealt with several years ago. Naxos people were testifying before the Senate in 90-91 and the act was passed shortly thereafter. It was sponsored by Senator Dianne Feinstein of California.
