Ron, I am aware of this and we are trying to fight the big corporations with our "Inventors Lobby". This bill is supported not only by big corporate America, but particularly by Japanese and European interests as well. They tried to get through a "first o file" motion (rather than "first to invent"), but we defeated them on that last year. They also are trying to get us to accept the Japanese systems where before examination big companies (they are the only one with the staff) can look at the application and file "friend of the court" objections. Life is getting tough for us little inventors. They have raised on us Maintenance fees (which we did not have at all before), now every average patent cost for filing is in the $10,000 to $25,000 bucks. Not many small inventors can file many of these patents. Luckily, I found few deep pockets organizations that has some faith in my inventiveness, and they buy my patents before I have to spend money with the lawyers and the PTO. But it took many years to get to this point and a record of having more than 30% of my patents granted on first pass without objections from the examiners and the rest with one response to the examiner's objection. Many inventors have to go through a painful process of years of fighting with the PTO before they get their patents granted.
