Hi Jill,..RE:.People will stop spending--even in small ways--its psychology, but its true. This was my belief also but after reading an article from the '98 sell-off, now I'm not sure. That author states that spending is a function of secure jobs and not the market. Interesting this article from Dec '98. America: running on empty and heading for recession newaus.com.au Consumer spending is not, never has been and never will be, a function of stock market prices. Cheers, Lee
