Hypertension Diagnostics' CVProfilor(R) DO-2020 System Featured In Disease Management Advisor Newsletter

ST. PAUL, Minn., Dec. 6 /PRNewswire/ --

Hypertension Diagnostics, Inc. (Nasdaq: HDII - news) announced today that a detailed article describing its primary product, the CVProfilor® DO-2020 CardioVascular Profiling System, is featured in the November 2001 issue of the Disease Management Advisor(TM) publication. The Disease Management Advisor(TM) is a medical newsletter that presents insightful information and practical tools to health care providers nationwide. Approximately 2,000 copies of this publication were distributed, with the CVProfilor® featured as a new procedure that signals risk of cardiovascular disease at an earlier stage. The article states that, "The procedure is simple enough that some experts suggest it could ultimately revolutionize the way providers risk-assess their patients for cardiovascular disease, making it more possible than ever to short-circuit the course of cardiovascular disease before it has the chance to do damage."

Jay N. Cohn, M.D., Professor of Medicine, Cardiovascular Division at the University of Minnesota explains, ``If you look at patients who have had a heart attack, more than half of them had normal blood pressure readings and more than half had normal cholesterol. So, if you just sit and wait for cholesterol to be elevated or for blood pressure to be elevated, you are going to miss more than half of the people who are destined to have a heart attack.''

Hypertension Diagnostics, Inc. designs, develops, manufactures and markets proprietary cardiovascular profiling systems for medical applications and clinical research. These systems are marketed to physicians, other health care professionals and researchers by a direct sales force and via distributors throughout the world. In addition to providing blood pressure values, the systems non-invasively detect subtle changes in the compliance or elasticity of both large and small arteries which is a unique feature of HDI's technology.
