That is total baloney.

The truth is confirmed by the fact that these baby farms went out of business when the supply of white middle class babies came to an end because of legalized abortion. There are still many teenage births in which the mother and family would rather not raise a child at that time. These mothers would welcome an arrangement that would provide shelter and healthcare and take responsibility to raise the baby. The middle class girls can get an abortion. The baby supply was suddenly dominated by poor women often with darker skin. If these organizations were really charitable then they would still be providing this "service".

The real money in baby sales was not from the purchase price of the adoptive families. The main source of funds was in requiring that the family of the teenage mother as well as the family which hoped to adopt a child had to become members of the sponsoring church and fork over 10% of their wealth to the charlatan in charge. These churches didn't particularly want poor dark skinned members.

In a previous post I mentioned the Edna Gladney Home. That was the only Texas adoptive service where I even remembered the name. My wife has reminded me that Edna Gladney has always had a good reputation as an adoption service. I regret associating them with the baby mills without evidence.
