Tonight I heard this definition of an Argentinean... told to me by a native, in good spirits and in fun, so evidently some of them know themselves well...

Perhaps, this could be a reason why the parity with the dollar was a doomed project from the start....

First, in the original form, so for those who know the language will not lose those details that sometimes are lost in a translation:

Argentineans are Italians who speak Spanish. They pretend to earn American wages, yet live like Englishmen. They pronounce French speeches, yet they vote like Senegalese. They think like socialists, yet they lead bourgeoisie lives. Applaud the Canadian resourcefulness, yet they have the tenacity of a Jamaican. They love the Swiss order, yet they live in a Tunisian style dis-organization. Now they are elated because in the soccer world cup they defeated Nigeria in their "risk-group".

(It is impossible to find a translation for the term "despeloteā€ which is considered an "Argentinismo", and some times, even they cannot decipher them).
