Here are a couple of examples of what 25% tariffs would do on Aluminum and defense parts from Quebec:

Quebec supplies 64 percent of the raw aluminum used by American companies. The United States does not have the capacity to produce aluminum to replace this crucial input and will not have it in the medium term. Tariffs of 25 percent would therefore only result in increasing the prices of beer cans, car parts, airplane parts and a host of other products for American consumers and businesses.

Quebec is also a major supplier of American military aviation supplies, particularly of engines, landing gear and flight simulators. These products are not replaceable in the short or medium term and imposing tariffs of 25 percent will be equivalent to increasing costs by 25 percent for American companies and ultimately, for the Pentagon.

It is really astonishing how people are supporting things that are so aligned against the interests of about 99.999% of Americans as well as the US economy as a whole.
