Sorry Carol, I have done no "excellent analysis" of SCH. In fact I have done no analysis at all. <VBG>
Seriously, I've been a customer for almost 20 years, and they treat me very well. Their reps are surprisingly knowledgeable and even know the answers to some very unusual questions that I tend to ask. <VBG> Their reps are always friendly, and always helpful. When they have screwed up, which is very, very rare, they have been willing to adjust commissions in a very fair manner. They have an excellent IPO program for their customers. I was a beta tester for the "Velocity" product, which is a big improvement over the web. It could use a few more enhancements, but I'm sure glad to have it.
At the current time I do not own any SCH, but they are a good company, and a well-run company. Eventually there will be a shakeout in the on-line brokerage area, but I have no doubt that SCH will continue to grow and thrive. To me, customer service and good executions are more important than a lower commission.
Thus I think that a long term investment in SCH will reward you handsomely. As for the short term - i.e. the next 6 months to a year, I have no opinion. A shakeout could come at any time. If it does come, be happy that you own a good company, and give them time.
Good luck,
Carl |
