Jim, How does this stack up with speed compared to CVUS? Guess we need to know what they base their "factor of 30" on to answer... but what do you think? As I see it, you still can only squeeze in so much on a POT line. CAP

They will be using 1.5Mbs ADSL modems. This is the cheap stuff. For ADSL 8-9Mbs Downstream 1Mbs Up is the high side. Depends on the subscribers distance from the company office.

You would be surprised how much bandwidth you can squeeze from a POTS Line! How about 52Mbs at 5000ft! Thats VDSL. Enough bandwidth for HDTV.

Think of your neighborhood telephone lines as a SpiderWeb. Now would you want to replace the Spiderweb with Fiber? or run one strand of fiber to a central Point of Presence and use the existing copper for the last mile and achieve 52Mbs? This works! Just ask NEC/Amati.
