Hi Allen,

Regarding to WRS being acquired. Was there any event that triggered this discussion?

Yesterday, I received a letter from Palm for a plan to issue new shares to current stock holders, in case of someone accumulating Palm and trying to do a take over. The only possible candidate for taking over Palm is Microsoft. Nokia, Ericsson, Motorola, Samsung, and even Docomo are big enough, but their biased stand point will only hurt the Palm economy.

It would seem that WRS is in a similar situation. Only a Mircosoft acquisition would be able to keep the Wind economy going. IBM and SUN are probably the 2nd best candidate. As for Motorola, Cisco, and Intel, there is probably too much interest in WRS for them to not hurt the overall Wind economy.

On the other hand, what do you think of a split up of WIND. Intel takes IxWorks. Cisco takes TMS. Microsoft takes that consumer electronics and STB pieces. And Motorola takes the rest which comprises of service, hardware, and government accounts.

Probably doesn't make much sense, just a thought though. There surely seem like no good compromise unless Microsoft takes over. Fidler has also said before that WIND is for sale at the right price.
