I just saw Magnolia- it just came out on video. My husband and I think it is one of the best movies we've seen. Don't let the frenetic pace of the beginning turn you off. It's very fast at the beginning and the images don't make sense- but that's just the intro. It reminded me a bit of Grand Canyon- only it's much better. It's a little like Night on Earth (although Jarmusch is a law unto himself). An interesting weekend could be had by viewing Grand Canyon, Magnolia and Night on Earth- and comparing and contrasting those movies. Well it would be an interesting weekend for me. Maybe not for anyone else.
