The SEC in the US has been successful at prosecuting floor traders for just this type of manipulation. The same should happen here but I don't see that coming anytime soon on the VSE or ASE by Canadian regulators.

They can change the name of the exchange but they can't change the history and the people manipulating these markets. The only thing that will truly make a change is criminal prosecution of the people who regularly engage in this type of activity.

The American regulators know how the Canadian houses manipulate the OTC market down there and I'm glad they are taking steps to make the violators pay no matter which country they might be a citizen or resident of.

I would not be surprised if in October we find out that the US SEC has pressed charges against Canadian citizens for stock market fraud in stocks listed on the OTC market down there. If you can commit the crime involving US markets then you can do the time in US prisons for those crimes. Living in Canada is not protection for committing such crimes.
