Looks like political stonewalling to me...

Whether the process of reunification could result in Cooke eventually regaining custody of his children remains unclear.

"Nothing concerning access and custody is ever final," the German official said. "Parents can always apply for the situation to change when circumstances have changed."

Seven years and Clinton/Gore/Reno did practically NOTHING to help an American father regain his TWO children until their hypocrisy was blatantly shown. Sure, spend millions for Castro's boy and next-to-nothing for an American father. That fathers best hope is for Bush to get elected. Otherwise, the German government will probably string it out until the media forgets about the kids.

It's actually fairly simple. Return the children or every American GI in Germany purchases products only on base.

In three weeks the business clamor would be so great the kids would be returned to their father.
