(OT:Eric) GPRS-WAP is cooking!
Btw, thanks for providing the articles, saves time to have them delivered.
Any idea on the "contract manufacturers", finnish Elcoteq should be OK, Flextronic??,etc not that familiar with them.
The transition from regular GSM to GPRS-WAP is clearly critical, spanning everything from wafers, networks, handsets to games, chat functions and xmas cards.
That is, I assume this transition will be critical, both customer behaviour, upgrades, operator tariffs down to TI's surplus wafers and the best will win, the other lose.
That is, some might actually become plain phone commodity manufacturers, the winners will push them even lower down to the level of basic cordless phones (but who wants to carry something like around town).
3G probably lives it own professional, lots of money and expensive to use, corporative market life for many years to come??

P.S. Thanks to somebody at the Q-thread for pointing out the addiction of watching FOX advertisements (with 100-256kbps speed) www.nakednews.com is another similar application. (the temporary pleasure demands transfer of 2-4MB data, CLinton Farewell greatest with 16MB, will handsets have enough memory for a couple of those) |
