No, I didn't. My grandmother died and the house was sold and torn down to build a furniture store. I asked my Dad once and he said there was nothing up there of any value that he knew of and certainly nothing that would harm anyone. I kinda believed it was full of something evil to scare me. Don't remember what made me think that other than I was told never to go up there. Sometimes I had visions of rats bigger than me that might grab me and hurt me.

We have a third floor attic that is fully floored and my grandchildren love to go up there. They saw a baby squirrel up there once and came flying down and told me. They wanted me to try and catch it for them but I told them it would find his way out or his mother would show him the way out to the trees and I guess she did cause they looked for it and could not find it any longer. When we first moved here we had flying squirrels up there and their mothers would bring them down into the house when they were about six weeks old for water and I caught one and had him for about a year. He tamed easily. Have pictures of him on my shoulder. I named him Mr. Bill and kept him in a 25 gallon fish tank. I had to put a book on the top of it so the cats could not get to him or he could not pop the top off and escape when we were sleeping. He loved running around on my desk and most times would crawl under a piece of paper and go to sleep. He would not run away when I let him out with me there and I would shut the door so the cats could not surprise him and attack him.

The strangest animal we ever had in the house was a little red fox and he joined two cats and a dog in the house. Only stayed a couple of weeks but he always wanted to play with the other animals and did not cause any problems. We gave him to some friends that lived on three acres with woods behind and they left him outside. Finally one day he did not show up to eat his food and was never seen again.

Well all this story telling is going to get me in hot water in the morning when I don't want to get my body out of bed, so I am signing off.

Have a happy Christmas!! Geeze it is later than I thought.
