i2 'an attractive takeover candidate?'
Shane: I guess Truffelette was referring to this bit of news from Barrons.Landis seems serious when he stated i2 could be an attractive takeover candidate but at least he did admit i2 is very attractive as an independent company.I don't mind if this 'rumor' gets around and brings the price up of the stock up though I rather see i2 prosper as an independent company which they have been doing since inception.Like you said I very much doubt Sanjiv and the other insiders who owns a good chunk of the company will let the company go for any price but then again one never knows these things. =========================================

Uniphase, I2, Others Liked by Firsthand's Landis, Barron's Says
New York, Nov. 7 (Bloomberg) -- Uniphase Corp., PMC-Sierra Inc., I2 Technologies Inc., Level One Communications Inc. and Applied Micro Circuits Corp. are among the favorite stocks of Kevin Landis, who runs several portfolios for Firsthand Funds, Barron's reported. Uniphase, which makes the basic components needed to build fiber-optic networks, is benefiting from recruiting and keeping good researchers, while PMC-Sierra, Level One and Applied Micro Circuits will have 10 to 12 percent growth every 90 days as they supply chips to large computer makers, he said. Landis said I2 would be an attractive takeover candidate for a larger company such as SAP AG or Oracle Corp., but will also grow quickly as an independent company, the newspaper reported.
Uniphase warned analysts last week that its second-quarter earnings would be below analysts' expectations because the telecommunication laser-maker may have to halt production at a Zurich factory to switch to a plant with higher capacity.
