Hi Joe, PMFJI. Just a couple things:

NT 5.0 will now be released "sometime" in 1998. See merc.com

Also, regarding the Ray Lane scenario. Remember back in the early 90's (or late 80's) when Oracle was still one of the pack. They put together an all-out offensive with scads of consultants to push the service business. That, in my opinion and from what I've read, is what got them to the top.

Now when I hear that part of Novell's *new* strategy is to build the service business (somewhere back a hundred posts or so), the Ray Lane scenario makes all the more sense. Couple that with Java-based "client-server" applications focus and it becomes clearer.

I, for one, am willing to pay Mr. Lane whatever and however he wants to do for Novell what he did for Oracle.

Keep on keepin' on Joe.

Rich
