The canvassing board members were intimidated and bullied by the young GOP hooligans and scofflaws. Film of this mini-riot will be shown in court this week. Intimidation was the reason why the canvassing board members packed up their cards and went home last week. Bush's brother, the gov, should have called out the National Guard to ensure the safety of these dedicated poll workers. The issue here is not whether the ballots were going for Gore or going for Bush. Perhaps the Bush precincts were counted first, which explains why GWB did better than expected early in the count.

The issue of who wins is less important than preserving the principle that every single vote counts.
