I hear the controversy concerning building a mosque by Ground Zero. Honestly, I was a little surprised to see Mayor Bloomberg support that. I had mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, it's well known that many mosques were used overseas to train suicide bombers in the kind of attacks that took place at Ground Zero. On the other hand, it is a place of worship and the vast majority of Muslims who would make use of such a site have no affinity with Al-Qaeda whatsoever. So, it's a delicate situation, to say the least. Some Right Wingers clearly feel that building a mosque there is not only throwing salt on a very bad wound, but is celebrating the Al-Qaeda rebels. I'd defer the decision to the families of those whose loved ones were killed on 9/11.
