MD Bryant,< who in my biased opinion is a better WAN company>,absolutely rigth.ASND switches can performet extremly well FR over ATM(Cascade Comm.)but if you ask these switches to do the same with ADLS(NN has 3X better density),LMDS(ansd do not know even how do to it),DWDM, TDM or circut emulation on the same platform you will get differnet results.ASND may be a leader in access concentrators or ATM to ISP, but the biggest ravenue will come from large telcos. ANSD is selling to some big boys only FR. Receantly they have big porblems to deliver what was promise to Bell Atlantic.Likely NN can deliver it right now. See wtat will happened. Zbyslaw
