"The federal courts concluded proceedings against 83,530 defendants, an increase of 6 percent. Of these, 74,850 were convicted. The conviction rate was 90 percent, the same as in 2002. Eighty-six percent of defendants disposed of pled guilty, also the same as in 2002."

I've been told privately that the EDNY has a 98% conviction rate, although I've not been able to verify that. Since the tables are sorted by offense, it's not clear whether someone accused of multiple offenses will show up in more than one statistic. And, if convicted of just one offense of many, I'm not sure how that is counted toward the overall conviction rate.
