You are right. I would not intentionally say Merry Christmas
to someone I knew would be offended or who was a Jew, or a
Muslim, or a Sikh or a Buddhist, etc.

My intent is not to offend & it's never done in an in your
face manner. And in that same vein, I would expect others to
embrace multiculturalism, tolerance & inclusion by not
squelching my freedom of speech & my right to religious
expression.

I wouldn't be offended if someone replied, "bugger off" to my
Christmas greeting. After all, they would be freely
expressing themselves.

I'm not forcing my religion on anyone by saying Merry
Christmas. I'm simply expressing my happiness of the season
in which christians celebrate the birth of Christ. If you are
going to squelch that, you have to stop any public
expressions, no?
