Brian, sure voice recognition sounds great, what applications will it serve in corporate america. I can just see it now....100's of people sitting in their cubicals on a floor all talking to their computers with 1 sec pauses between each word. That should add to corporate productivity in a big way.

Maybe someday we will all be talking to computers but that is still several years away. Just like video conf, it was supposed to be the future killer app in the late 80's. Well we can do it now (kinda sorta), but I don't see people rushing out and buying video conf options for their PC's.

Regarding how good business really is...well we will have to wait for AMAT to tell us in November. One of the bullish people who's opinion I respect on this thread, believes that in the shortterm AMAT was overpriced at 50. And I think he knows alot more about AMAT than the Morgan fellow. Sure AMAT's is undervaluded based on future earnings, question is how far out is the analyst looking....1yr or 5yrs? I'll agree with him if he's talking 5 years.

Remember in the last slowdown, analyst didn't see it coming until it landed in their lap. And accoding to analysts, the 150 Fabs that were planned in 1995 would still not meet the chip demand going forward (half of them have been cancelled or postponed) and don't forget that MU was supposed to earn $12/sh this year because of the huge DRAM demand and capacity shortage...they missed it by $10.50/sh.
