The process is that future trends have been estimated based on perceived historical ones. Meanwhile, IPCC is admitting that the historical data used as a basis for the estimates is worthless.
This isn't complicated. But statistically, if you have lousy data coming in your future projections aren't going to be any good. I think anyone can see that.

Many times the projection methods used by climate scientists are NOT good science. They know it.
These hypothesis' simply are not testable due to the time frames involved and lack of long term data.
