jackmore: Very useful observation, hope others will see the significance of this Nextel move as you do. Someone may correct me but I see no technical reason that the new spectrum could not be used the same way as Nextel plans to roll out it's CDMA 2000 service. The roadblocks are political, bureaucratic, historical, standards related, and most difficult of all to overcome, inertia. So in Europe at least the easy and cost effective approach you suggest will probably not happen. But this is a very wide world. It may somewhere. Best. Chaz
