Devil, maybe you're right. I gave a talk to a local TA investment club about the benefits of buy and hold over market timing. They issued a challenge to me about the relative merits of buy and hold vs market timing. After two months my return is more than double their's (actually triple). The portfolio I set up initially had equal dollar amounts of the following stocks: (AOL, ASND, ATI, BKS, BMCS, CKR, CSCO, DELL, HBOC, NETA, TLAB). There have been no trades since I set it up. The return thus far has been about 35%. The timer's return has been around 11% -- about the same as the increase in the S&P500.
