Who told you that the savings in components will be passed to the customers completely ? The memory cost has been dropped by 90%, the
price of CPU has been dropped more than 50%,and just in last one month
, the Taiwanese and Korean currency has been dropped by more than 10% and 16% respectively and continued!!! I did not see CPQ pass all the
savings on components, currency change, implementation of OTB program to customers. Also do not forget that sub $1000 model is just one of
many PC models offered by CPQ to its customers, maybe more than 60%
of the customers will go to higher models with more powers with couple of hundred dollars more. At least I will go to the higher model with couple hundred dollars more for more powerful model. You sounds you are the decision maker in CPQ . <ggg> This year, the total volume of pcs shipped will be more than 87 million. Based on CPQ's market share
and assume all customers will go to the sub $1000 model, pls tell me what CPQ's revenue will be just from the PC business. Besides, please remember PC is not the only business of CPQ, CPQ sells other products!!!
