First of all, let me see...Ummm.. is this the SAME Robert Butcher (looking at the email address...uh huh, pinching self... uh huh).
OK. What the hell is with you man? How can you post two ENTIRELY different posts? Whatever....
1. Did you read the story in Barron's Online? Robert, that is a true story (for ME!!!) And yes, I've got over $130,000 in this stock. ONLY because I had to average it down. I have TOO much of my portfolio in one security. That is MY fault. Anyway, it didn't start out that high, but ..... If you read Barron's, I had some inside info, and I expected to be out of it in 5 months, tops. Well that fell through. OK, here comes the Value routine. Looking good for awhile, then MSFT put's it's crosshairs on Novell, and now it's bad news. Then Frankenberg out, and it's more bad news ...BUT, hey, Maybe Marengi will/can do it.... etc.
Well, ..... No.. No it ain't gonna happen. Up until oh say 2 months ago I was promoting the hell out of InterNetware on my site. Pic's of Young/Marengi Songs, the whole bit. I wrote to trade mags, Trashed MSFT everwhere I could, etc, etc... THEN IT DAWNED ON ME.... THESE PEOPLE ARE REALLY F*CKED UP! You know the story from there.
Robert, I AM WHAT I AM. I DON'T LIE. I get information sooner maybe because of what I do (look, I am under a perpetual NDA (non-disclosure agreement), so I really can't elaborate. It's not insider stuff, but I can get access to clips quicker. Also, I've made a few "friends" inside Novell.
Now, my web page is used to drill a message into the POWERS TO BE at NOVELL (IF I CAN. AT LEAST I TRY!). Robert, we need new management.
It's NOT the employees. Trust me, I know quite a few of them. Some have left, but I still communicate.
And to finish it off. At this point, I know as much as anyone else on this thread, or that reads the rags (oh yeah, I have a few Journalist friends too, that feed me stuff), or the financial papers.
In other words, I don't know nothin' anymore. Your guess is as good as mine.
And no, I haven't bet the farm. In just techs, I have MSFT, CPQ, CSCO,
HWP, ORCL, SUN etc.. and the rest spread over cross-industry and these are doing quite well (but obviously, any profits I make here I don't want to use to cover a NOVL loss. After all, I am a capitalist).
The problem is, I made a bad decision on NOVELL. Not that it will not EVER come back. I HAVE LOST a lot of LOST OPPORTUNITY COSTS, because of this freaking' money that's tied up in Novell.
