Rofl ... it's no coincidence imho that they haven't renamed it Greenwich Kind Time. Yesterday on cbc radio i heard a bit on Noah Webster, who according to the speaker was responsible for methodically inventing 'US english', it was he who took the U from colour and favour and neighbour etc, and he tried to change 'night' to 'nite' as well ... i never heard this before, so next bit of free time i'll check him out ... here's a bit - lexrex.com "Noah Webster claimed to have coined only one word - demoralize, which he defined: "To corrupt or undermine the morals of; to destroy or lessen the effect of moral principles on; to render corrupt in morals."" lexrex.com Such a shame he spelled it wrong, in proper english it would be demoralise -g-
