Regarding the disclaimers you took from Ascend's SEC documents. It is customary for companies, not just high-tech, to highlight potential risks such as the possibility of increased competition, margin pressure, etc. This is a legal issue, and I am not personally concerned about Ascend's mentioning such risks. However, your other points are good.
