ALYA Signs Distributor Contract with Smart Building Technologies Inc.

PALO ALTO, Calif.--Feb. 11, 1998--ALYA International Inc. announced
today the signing of a distributor contract with Smart Building
Technologies Inc. (''SBT'') of Richmond, British Columbia.

SBT specializes in providing ''one stop'' seamless integrated
telecommunications and technology services such as Voice, Data,
Internet, Access Control and Video Conferencing to commercial
buildings. SBT will be licensed to market, sell and distribute ALYA's
OPENcentrix security management system for buildings.

Working with PK Projects, a Vancouver developer, SBT has developed and
implemented this concept for the Commerce Court International project
in Richmond, British Columbia. This project is the first truly unique
''Smart Building'' in British Columbia. When completed in 1999,
Commerce Court International will generate in excess of Cdn$1 million
annually in rental revenue from the ''Smart Building'' services.

SBT intends to be the first company to provide all the
elecommunications and technology services that an incoming tenant will
require. ''It is our goal for a company who moves into one of our
buildings to be 'business ready' the day they move in,'' said Kevin
O'Shaughnessy, VP of marketing for SBT.

In announcing the signed distribution agreement, ALYA's VP of Sales
and Marketing Douglas Corbett said ''ALYA is pleased to be part of
Smart Building Technologies Inc.'s integrated services, and
particularly to be able to provide ALYA's LonWorks compliant
OPENcentrix security management system in one of the world's most
technologically advanced buildings.''

ALYA now has three signed distributors representing order commitments
for $1,500,000 for the current year. The company is developing
relationships with more than 30 potential distributors including large
integrators, utilities and building automation companies and expects a
significant increase in the number of signed distributors in the
coming months.

ALYA International Inc. is a leader in software design using Microsoft's(R) Windows NT(R), Echelon's(R) LonWorks(R) technology and
Local/Wide area networks communication protocols. ALYA's first
product, OPENcortex(TM) is a development platform based on these de
facto standards directed to companies implementing applications for
end users such as building management systems and process control
applications. ALYA has utilized this platform in the design of its
second product OPENcentrix(TM), an application for security systems
and building access. LonWorks(R) technology is a de facto standard in
the building automation and process control industries providing a new
standard for open architecture and interoperable control systems.

LonWorks(R) is endorsed by the LonMark(R) Association, supported by
Motorola(R), Honeywell Inc(R), Johnson Controls Inc(R), Olivetti(R),
BTE(R) and Toshiba Corp.(R). ALYA is one of the first companies to
