Citicorp and many of the money-center banks usually announce earnings on the third Tuesday after quarter-end. That should be on April 21, 1998. My understanding of the ASIA exposure is that it should have a minimal effect to overall earnings since Citicorp is usually protective with hedges on currency. This happen in the currency devaluation of the Mexican peso a couple of years ago. Also, Citicorp usually increases there loan loss provisions in the 1Q. Comparatively, the past years these loan loss provision were to cover the Real Estate exposure. The 1Q usually is not reflected of the entire year.
