I chose not to respond to the posts to me on the issue on the MDA thread as I agreed that it was not the appropriate place.

Your response to Zeev really debunks the alternative argument. I see the benefits of a national sales tax as including: 1) getting taxes from the significant underground economy and 2) eliminate individual and corporate tax subsidies.
